Fastest blockchain processes 91M transactions in a single day

Solana proved to be the fastest among major networks: transactions per second (TPS) hit a record level on April 6 amid the memecoin frenzy. This makes Solana 46 times faster than Ethereum and more than 5 times faster than Polygon, which has the highest TPS among Ethereum forks

Despite being considered the fastest blockchain, Solana has reached only 1.6% of its theoretical maximum speed of 65,000 TPS

The growing number of transactions has caused network congestion, and it is unclear how quickly Solana will be able to achieve higher TPS after the upcoming upgrades
