Tether unveiled the "American" stablecoin USAT

Tether unveiled a new stablecoin for American users called USAT at an event in New York on Friday, September 12

The coin will be regulated in the US and pegged to the US dollar at a 1:1 ratio. This was announced along with the news that Bo Hines will become the future CEO of Tether USAT

According to Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, the decision was made to bring stablecoins to the largest financial market in the world

This move was made amid the stablecoin boom, which has resulted in the total market capitalization of the sector reaching $287 billion today, compared with $208 billion at the beginning of the year
