Uniswap Labs hires former Coinbase executive as Chief Legal Officer

DeFi platform Uniswap Labs has appointed Katherine Minarik, former General Counsel at Coinbase, as CLO

Minarik's appointment came shortly after the SEC's statement about a likely lawsuit against Uniswap Labs over concerns about misuse of their service. The agency has been investigating Uniswap since 2021, examining the operations of their decentralized exchange and the $UNI token for potential securities law violations

Katherine extended thanks to Uniswap founder Hayden Adams and COO Catherine Layder for entrusting her to "protect and advocate for the interests of the industry, and help build a future we cannot yet even imagine"

Uniswap Labs responded to the SEC's allegations, stating that its $DEX and $UNI tokens are not securities and therefore do not fall under regulatory requirements
