Animoca Brands founder's X account used to promote a fake token

Animoca, a company in the metaverse and gaming space, on Thursday at 01:36 UTC posted a warning on X that the account of Yat Siu had been compromised and that the company would not be releasing an official token or NFT

According to ZachXBT, the exploit was likely carried out using a phishing email that appeared to come from X and was related to a copyright infringement claim

Whoever is behind the fake $MOCA token is active on the meme-coin launchpad Pump.fun, and has also created a number of NFT collections over the past two weeks, explorer data shows. The wallet currently holds about $68,000 worth of the $USDC stablecoin
