Why is account verification required?

Short answer
To verify an account on the crypto exchange, the user needs to confirm their email address and, when making an exchange, confirm the card used for the transaction. In some cases, a passport or another identification document may be required.

What is account verification?

Account verification is the process of confirming a user's identity, carried out to prevent fraud. This procedure helps the service make sure the user is a real person, rather than a bad actor trying to commit fraudulent activity.

Why is account verification needed?

The identity confirmation procedure serves several important functions:

  • Security — verified users get an additional layer of protection against scammers and hacks.
  • Compliance with international AML/KYC requirements — cryptocurrency market regulation requires user identification to prevent illegal financial operations.
  • Reducing the risk of delays — if a user has not been verified, the system may temporarily suspend the operation.

Completing verification is also necessary for working with bank cards. During an exchange, the service checks the card from which the transfer is made to make sure it belongs to the account holder.

How to confirm an account at the crypto exchange?

Account confirmation is a standard procedure aimed at protecting the user and preventing fraud. In most cases, it is enough to confirm the email and the card from which the transfer is made.

Let's take a closer look at how to pass account verification at the crypto exchange. On the E-Change platform, the verification process consists of several stages:

  • Email confirmation

When registering, you need to provide a valid email, which will receive a message with a confirmation link. After it is activated, the account will be verified.

  • Card confirmation

During a cryptocurrency exchange, the service may request confirmation that the card being used actually belongs to the user. This is necessary to prevent fraud and ensure the security of operations.

  • Additional identity verification

In some cases, the E-Change service may request the presentation of a government-issued identification document: a passport or an ID card. This is done as part of compliance with AML policy.

The verification procedure takes a minimum of time and is necessary for the stable operation of the service.
