Why is my transaction stuck at the "Confirmation" stage?

Short answer
If your operation has not moved to the final stage for a long time and the transaction status remains "processing", it means the network has not yet confirmed the operation. In most cases the delay is caused by a congested blockchain or a fee that is too low. If the delay persists, we recommend contacting support.

In the cryptocurrency market, it is not uncommon for a user to notice that the funds they have sent have not reached the recipient, while the system continues to show the status "Confirmation". This picture is especially typical for Bitcoin and other popular networks during periods when load spikes sharply.

An unconfirmed transaction at a crypto exchange is an operation that has not yet received the required number of blocks. If you see a message like "Bitcoin cryptocurrency transaction status: unconfirmed" or "processing", it is important to understand that our crypto exchange cannot instantly complete the deal until the blockchain officially confirms the operation. The decentralized nature of blockchains means that no platform can forcibly speed up the inclusion of an operation in a block.

Why do delays occur?

1. Overloaded network

During periods of heightened interest in cryptocurrencies, the number of operations surges, and the blockchain simply cannot process everything in real time.

2. Low fee. If the user chooses a fee below the recommended level, the operation can drag on because miners place it at the end of the queue.

3. Wrong network choice. In some cases, users confuse networks (for example, choosing BEP20 for a token that exists in ERC20 format). In such situations, the transaction may get stuck in another blockchain or fail to go through at all.

4. Maintenance work. Sometimes the system or a specific blockchain may be undergoing maintenance.

How can you speed up Bitcoin transaction confirmation?

For Bitcoin, there are ways to increase the fee even after sending, but they are not available in all wallets. If you cannot change the transfer fee, you will have to wait for miners to get to your operation. In some cases, it is preferable to cancel the transaction (if supported) and resend it with a higher fee. Nonetheless, most deals are confirmed automatically as the mempool clears — the time can range from a few minutes to a few hours.

If the system shows "transaction status: processing" and it is not about Bitcoin, the network may also be overloaded or the data entered during sending may be incorrect. Before taking steps to speed up the transaction, you should always make sure that the chosen network matches the one required for the token and that there are no typos in the address.

If you encounter a situation where the operation has not been confirmed for a long time, first check whether the fee can be increased, and also make sure the chosen network and entered details are correct. If there is no result, contact the 24/7 E-Change support service. Specialists will help figure out why the delay occurred.
